Which activity events does the radar track?

New drilling permits, rig locations, completions, lease and unit filings, and operator-change events, pulled from state regulators across producing states. Each event keeps its source and last-updated date. See the data coverage page for which datasets and states are deepest.

How does a permit get matched to owners?

We match each permit and well to the leases and tracts it overlaps using surface-hole and bottom-hole locations plus a quarter-mile buffer tier, then resolve those tracts to the mineral owners underneath. The buffer tier flags owners whose minerals sit just off the permitted location, not only directly under it.

How fresh is the permit data?

Permit and activity data refresh continuously, while regulator publication cadence varies by state. Every event shows its source and last-updated date so you know how recent it is. The data coverage page lists cadence by source.

Does the radar tell me a well’s exact economics?
